Purpose and Reason:

Eff 2/1/2008, DHS will institute expedited services eligibility criteria for the purpose of accessing home & community care. Home & community-based providers will be reimbursed for services provided to individuals while a complete Medicaid application is pending. If the person is eligible for Medicaid, service costs will be fully captured by Medicaid back to the date of application. If Medicaid eligibility is denied, the individual will no longer be eligible for payment of expedited services.
